Changing Client’s Network Gateway to Your VPN Router

To connect your devices to your VPN router, which has been configured to use the IP address 192.168.1.2, there are two methods you can use.

  1. The first method is to use DHCP, which is a protocol that automatically assigns IP addresses to devices on a network. This is the easiest and most convenient method, as it will automatically set the gateway for all devices on your network to be the VPN router (with IP address 192.168.1.2).
  2. The second method is to use a manual, or static, IP configuration. This means that you will need to manually set the IP address and gateway for each device on your network. To do this, you will need to configure the device’s IP settings to use a static IP, and then set the gateway to be the VPN router (with IP address 192.168.1.2).

Sing-Box will soon be able to act as a DHCP and DNS server, allowing you to turn off your modem’s DHCP server and rely on Sing-Box for network configuration. This will make it easy to manage your local network’s IP addresses and domain name resolution.

Pihole and Adguard Home are both software programs that can be used to block unwanted ads and trackers on your network. One of the features of both programs is that they include a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server, which allows them to assign IP addresses to devices on your network.

To use the DHCP server built into Pihole or Adguard Home, you will first need to turn off the DHCP feature on your modem. By default, most modems are configured to act as DHCP servers, but you can disable this feature so that your devices will get IP addresses from the DHCP server in Pihole or Adguard Home instead.

Once you’ve turned off the DHCP feature on your modem, all of the devices on your network will start getting IP addresses from the DHCP server in Pihole or Adguard Home, regardless of which IP address the software is hosted on. This is made possible through DHCP broadcasting feature.
